Welcome

The Weavers' Guild of Buffalo is a non-profit organization founded in 1968 as the Buffalo Weavers Guild, by a small group of women who learned to weave at the Buffalo YWCA.. Any person interested in weaving is eligible for membership. The Guild holds daytime meetings at 10am and also at 6:30pm every month between September and June. Guild members may attend one or both meetings each month. All meetings are held at  Trinity Old Lutheran Church, 3445 Sheridan Drive, Amherst, NY, unless indicated otherwise on the Guild Calendar.

The Guild maintains a library of fiber related books, periodicals and samples. Members may borrow these without charge for one month. A few table looms, a floor loom and a triangular shawl loom are owned by the Guild and are available for rent to members.

Study groups are an important and meaningful facet of membership. Small groups are organized to pursue, in depth topics, which are chosen by various members. Groups set their own meeting times and places and meet regularly to set goals, assign study tasks and to exchange ideas and materials. A report of each group is given at the end of the year.

Mission Statement

The Weavers' Guild of Buffalo is a network of individuals who come together to exchange energies, information and philosophies about weaving and other fiber related arts for the purpose of keeping a craft we care about alive, as well as sharing it with others.
